This popping corn is a variant on the classic 'strawberry' variety (named for its red berry-like appearance) which has been adapted to southern climates over the past several years. Direct sow or grow in trays to transplant out in October or November. Space plants 25-30cm apart in a block of at least 20 plants. Plants are shorter and bushier than normal sweet corn. Harvest in autumn when plants begin to dry out to a tan colour.
